Some women want a gentle, reassuring presence at their birth to help them with breathing and comfort measures, While others would prefer a complete labour coach to help facilitate their birth plan, and still others may just want some extra support and assistance with photography and running birth related tasks.
I am here to discover what your individual requirements are and then to help bring them to life, assisting you and your partner in creating a positive and memorable birth.
Complete Doula Package
* Initial interview and consultation free of charge and obligation
* An agreed number of visits with you and your partner usually lasting 2 hours each visit. During these sessions I like to discuss your expectations, any anxieties you may have and provide assistance for you in writing a birth plan. I then will cover any other topics that may interest you, including stages of labour, preparation for labour as well as relaxation techniques, positions, interventions, pain relief and strategies for a more positive birth. These visits also help to build a trust and comfort with each other.
* Continuous support during labour/birth from when needed, be it the onset of labour or active labour ~ I remain by yourside until you have birthed your baby, you are settled and happy for me to leave. I can also supply you with support in your home If this is where you are wanting to labour prior to heading to your place of birth.
* Official on call availability from 2 weeks prior to your due date until you birth your baby
* 1-2 hours of assistance immediately following the birth, including breastfeeding support
* 1-2 hours of assistance immediately following the birth, including breastfeeding support
* One postnatal visit to debrief and assist with any difficulties
* Photography during the birth where possible
