Ask me for strength and I will lend not only my hand, but also my heart.

Does a doula replace a midwife?

Certainly not. Doulas are there for the complete emotional and physical support of the mother to be and their partner.

Doulas DO NOT provide medical, nursing, midwifery or any therapeutic care, nor do they comment on, interpret or judge this care.

Does a doula make decisions on my behalf?

No a doula does not make any decisions on behalf of her clients and will not go against medical advice. She is there to provide you and your partner with information so that you can make an informed decision, and be there to support you in this decision whatever it may be.
