About Me
My name is Emma and I am a mother to 5 wonderful and spirited children.
I have always been maternal and dreamt of having children which became a reality in 2000 with the birth of my first son. Not long after, I gave birth to my 2nd son in 2002, my daughter in 2005, my fouth child another son was born via emergency caesarean in 2006 and in May of 2010 I welcomed another beautiful daughter birthed at home as a VBAC.
Along my journeys I have come to see childbirth as such a wonderful life changing event, that should be looked forward to with no fear but with plenty of excitement and support.
Not long after the birth of my fourth child I was driven to become a doula with such an intense passion and did so in 2007.
There is such a need for women's eyes to be opened to the many choices they have and may come across. Women have every right to go through their pregnancies and births feeling completely and wholey supported, empowered and positive.
I understand that each and every woman along with each pregnancy and labour are completely unique and require different needs. I am there to support you fully In your decisions, through your pregnancy and entire labour, through any ups and downs, without judgement or doubt but with complete committment and support whenever and however you need.
To date I have experienced and supported many women through vaginal births, home Births, Successful VBACs (vaginal birth after caesarean), VBAMC (vaginal birth after multiple caesareans including VBA2C and VBA4C ), Twins, elective and emergency caesarean sections, Inductions, medicated and unmedicated births including Calmbirth & Hypnobirth and have supported in public and private hospitals along with birth centres and homebirths.
I have also continued to expand my skills and knowledge with an additional doula course, updated research and by attending seminars about pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding over the years.
Along side my birth support services I also joinyly co-ordinate the Sydney and Central Coast VBAC Support group along side my back up doula Anna Russell.
Everyones birth and everyones set of circumstances are completely different. Aim for the stars but educate and prepare yourself for the journey.
